Put an inverted test tube in a bottle of water.  Cap it.  Squeeze.  The air is compressed.  When volume goes down, density goes up.  If you squeeze hard enough, the tube will sink to the bottom.  If you need help, quickly tip the bottle a bit to let some water into the tube.
