The phenomena of convection. Set up the apparatus as drawn in class. You will be heating the water UNEVENLY. The idea is to get one side of the beaker hotter than the other. Once the burner has been on for a minute or two, gently add food coloring to the water and observe what happens.

Next, you will measure the difference between convection and radiation.
