One of the graph making activities my science II classes do involves releasing a marble down a ramp.
Readings are taken and a d/t graph is produced.  The shape of the resulting curve varies, but it always curves upward as it goes to the right.

They use the ramp, a stopwatch, a marble, and a meterstick.  Several trials are done to increase accuracy.
